About

I am an engineer who likes small, durable things and dislikes dashboards that need a dashboard.

By day I write ordinary software. By night I keep a handful of machines alive for myself and a few friends, mostly so I understand how the boring parts of the internet actually work: DNS, certificates, timers, backups, the unglamorous plumbing.

This site is where I leave notes for the version of me who shows up six months later having forgotten everything. If a note happens to help you too, good. If it is wrong, it was probably right in June.

Elsewhere

I am not on the usual feeds. The most reliable way to reach me is the address printed on my own machines; if you do not already have it, this page is not the place I would hand it out.
